Newsletter for End of 2012/2013 Academic Session

Dear Esteemed Parents and Guardians,

We are grateful to the Almighty God who saw us successfully through the 2012/2013 Academic Session. We particularly thank our supportive P.T.A. EXCO for always being there! To our visionary Executive Director, competent management, esteemed parents, hardworking staff and excellent pupils- You were wonderful, especially during just concluded Graduation / Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony. May God bless you all even as we look forward to another fruitful session.

2012/2013 Academic Session recorded series of interesting school activities which included: Career Day, Cultural Day, French Day, Founder’s Day, Math Mole, Inter-House Sports, Spelling Bees, Excursions and LWA 4th Graduation/Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony etc. They were all educative and successfully implemented. We appreciate all our esteemed parents for their immense support during these events.

Parents are kindly encouraged to keep their children’s uniforms clean and ironed at all times. The approved school shoe is black and white ankle length socks. White canvas is to be worn with the sportswear on sports days. Boys’ hair should be cut low and girls’ hair made according to the weekly hairstyles. Ornaments are strictly prohibited.

We have observed that most students shape the legs of trousers and other parts of the uniform that it becomes too tight. The school frowns at this and will not hesitate to confiscate any tight uniform. Parents are please requested to ensure that their children’s uniforms are as recommended by the school.

We wish to remind parents that the school does not permit the use of phones or any electronic gadget by scholars in school. Any child seen with these items will be suspended from the school. On this note, we appeal to parents to kindly check their children’s bags before going to school to ensure that they only carry items meant for school.

We also use this medium to appreciate our esteemed parents for their prompt payment of fees for last session. In view of this, we appeal to our parents to endeavour to ensure prompt payment of fees for this session. Fee drive for 1st term will be done after two weeks of resumption from Monday 23rd September, 2013. Parents should please ensure that all fees paid are duly registered and receipted.

Parents are also encouraged to avail their children the opportunities we offer through our Special Fees Services. Full annual payment of school fees attracts a discount of N10, 000. Late payment of fees attracts a fine of N 10,000 with effect from 23rd September, 2013.

Parents with more than two children will be given N8, 500 discounts on the tuition fee for the third child on application.

We wish to remind our esteemed parents that the school authority should be notified whenever a child is to be absent from school in order to obtain permission. This will help us ensure that they make up for what was lost in their absence. However, we appeal that our esteemed parents should cut down on excessive travelling during school days to ensure stability in their children’s academic activities.

We wish to inform our esteemed parents that from next session( 2013/2014), a compulsory payment of N 1,000 (One Thousand Naira Only ) will be made by parents wishing to obtain introduction letters from the school to aid collection of Visas for their children who may wish to travel out of Nigeria for any purpose.

We wish to share the school official contacts with our esteemed parents to enhance effective communication flow:

We have observed that most parents allow their children to come on their own to school. This exposes them to vices and danger on the road. The school authority however, may not know when they leave home or when they reach home from school. We therefore appeal to our esteemed parents to try and use the school bus services or endeavour to drop off their children and pick them up accordingly to ensure safety and parental control. Our school gate will be closed after 8.00 O’clock in the morning and scholars coming late will not be allowed to come into the school after the gate is locked.

We appeal to our esteemed parent to kindly assist their children to do their holiday homework so that they will still be intellectually active during the long holiday. Enclosed in their results envelope are their holiday homework.

Information reaching us is that most of our esteemed parents are disturbed about the alleged movement of Lordswill Academy totally from Gwarinpa to Wumba District in Abuja. We want to use this medium to debunk the rumour and also assure you that the two schools (Gwarinpa and Wumba) will run concurrently. We appreciate you for your unwavering support and assure you of our continued quality service.

We congratulate all our parents/ staff who put to bed during the term/session. We also congratulate our staff who had their weddings during the session. May God bless your homes.

The Board of Director, Management and Staff, Graduating Classes of 2013 and Scholars of Lordswill Academy appreciate all our invited guests and esteemed parents for honouring our invitation to our 4th Graduation/ Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony which took place on Saturday, 20th July, 2013. Thank you for your valuable support, presence and contributions during the epoch-making event. You are part of our success story. Thank you and God bless you immensely

School resumes for 1st term (2013/2014) on 13th September, 2013. Attached is the Activities Schedule for 1st term. Please kindly go through the schedule and ensure compliance. We will communicate any changes as at when they come up.

Once again, thank you for partnering with us to make the best out of our children.
